Cloud Native Configuration and Secrets Management Company Names Industry Veteran Christian Tate CEO
CloudTruth, the DevSecOps platform company that helps enterprise development teams manage their cloud configurations has raised new seed funding. The round was led by UBMB with participation from existing investors Glasswing Ventures, York IE, and Stage 1 Ventures. The funding will help scale the company’s go-to-market approach, expand its customer base, and deliver products that supercharge DevSecOps pipeline build teams. The company announced that industry veteran Christian Tate has joined CloudTruth as CEO to lead the company’s next phase of growth.
According to Emergen Research, the global DevSecOps market will reach $23.4 billion by 2028. The rising need for repeatable, adaptive processes and custom code security drive industry demand. DevSecOps teams struggle to manage secrets and uniform configuration schema for cloud and application resources. Configuration complexity causes outages, security flaws, and decreased team velocity.
CloudTruth accelerates build pipelines with a systematic way to inject and manage all configurations, including secrets, into code releases which improve developer, DevOps, and Platform Engineering productivity.
“At UBMB, we invest in companies harnessing the power of AI and cloud-native technologies to transform markets,” said Spencer Gaffney, UBMB Partner. “CloudTruth offers DevSecOps teams that transformative element – a critical control plane that enables them to release code faster and more securely.”
“CloudTruth reduced production deployment time from 2 months to 2 weeks. It’s like having a SRE at my developers’ fingertips,” said Brendan Putek, Director of DevOps at Relay Networks.
“CloudTruth is an essential part of any modern SDLC, and GreenPages is recommending the platform to our clients as a part of our GitOps practice,” said Matt O’Donnell, Director of Cloud Architecture at GreenPages.
CloudTruth Appoints CEO
To lead CloudTruth's next growth phase, Christian Tate joins the leadership team as CEO. Previously, Christian was part of the business development and leadership team that catapulted Double-Take Software from single-digit to triple-digit revenue growth, IPO, and exit to Thoma Bravo. At Hitachi Vantara, Christian served as Vice President of Corporate Development and was responsible for the company’s storage, IIoT, and Cloud technologies.
“Christian brings a wealth of knowledge to CloudTruth as we look to scale the company and our footprint globally,” said Greg Arnette. “With our additional funding and Christian on board, we are continuing to expand upon our ability to connect the powerful value of the CloudTruth platform in real business operating terms for our prospects in the marketplace.”
“I am excited to join the CloudTruth team at this inflection point where we see increased adoption of DevSecOps solutions among enterprises. Addressing the build and deploy pipeline is a natural evolution of the growing complexity and scale of cloud-native applications,” said Christian Tate, CEO of CloudTruth. “Too many DevSecOps teams cobble together a secrets and configuration solution that doesn’t scale, slows them down, and compromises security. It’s time to fix that and adopt a new paradigm.”
